Making good progress both within the game and on the business side of things.
- Reworked the game meta-loop to be a truer roguelike experience: perma-death and an upgrade on every victory, rather than no perma-death and experience gains after matches depending on performance. I think this will help the replayability and will definitely simplify the technical aspect of things.
- Privacy policy is finalized, so I’m one step closer to getting a steam page up and starting marketing in earnest.
Aside from game dev, I’ve been listening to Poppy’s new album, “Negative Spaces“, on repeat for about a week now. That’s been hindering my focus at first, but now that I’ve fully downloaded the album into my brain it can turn into background music and actually help productivity. I hadn’t realized that she made music at all until I saw the recent drama around Knocked Loose and Jimmy Kimmel. Not all of her work is my style, but “Negative Spaces” is great.
